Itinerary

Day 1: Cape Town to Kapama Game Reserve

  • Morning: Guests can fly into Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport from Cape Town. Transfers will be arranged from Eastgate to Kapama Game Reserve.
  • Afternoon: Arrive at Kapama Private Game Reserve, allowing time to freshen up and enjoy a meal before embarking on an afternoon game drive with your ranger and tracker.
  • Evening: During the drive, stop for a sundowner and stretch your legs while watching the sunset over the distant Drakensberg mountains. As night falls, the nocturnal animals emerge. The skilled tracker will sweep the landscape with a flashlight to highlight the eyes of animals. Arrival at the lodge is typically around 19:00, providing ample time to refresh before a delectable dinner.

Day 2 to Day 4: Kapama Game Reserve

  • Morning: Rise between 5:00 and 5:30 each morning for tea or coffee and rusks before heading out on a morning game drive. The cooler temperatures in the morning make the wildlife more active, and the softer light is perfect for photography.
  • Afternoon: After a substantial breakfast at the lodge, enjoy leisure time by the pool, read a book, or explore the lodge’s amenities. After a sumptuous high tea, embark on an afternoon wildlife drive that may last past twilight, concluding each day with a delicious dinner and discussions about the day’s sightings. Accommodation for both nights is provided at Kapama Buffalo Camp.

Day 5: Kapama Game Reserve to Cape Town

  • Morning: The final day begins with an early morning wildlife drive, hoping for unforgettable sightings.
  • Afternoon: After the drive, enjoy breakfast at the lodge before being transferred to Eastgate Airport for your return flight to Johannesburg.
