Kruger National Park is located in the north-eastern corner of South Africa. It was first proclaimed in 1898 as the Sabie Game Reserve by the then president of the Transvaal Republic, Paul Kruger. The reserve was sanctioned as a protected area to restrict unchecked hunting and protect the country’s valuable natural resources.
Kruger’s revolutionary vision took another 12 years to materialise and Kruger National Park was finally established in 1926 when two major reserves were amalgamated.
Today, the Kruger National Park is one of Africa’s largest game reserves; spanning an area of some 2-million hectares. The world-renowned national park offers a wildlife safari experience that ranks with the best in the world. Explore Kruger National Park in the company of a professional safari guide who will take you on scenic loops and off the beaten path in search of Africa’s finest animals.
